I looked at NME magazine which features predominantly on indie and rock. It is of huge interest to me as I read it regularly and therefore the opportunity to include its house style or take other aspects of the magazine into account is interesting. NME as a brand is recognised globally and the house t
style of the masthead is almost famous its so common and the masthead 'NME' flows through all technological convergence of the brand much alike other NME brands such as the radio or the more popular NME website.
The cover lines are usually in the left third of the magazine of every NME with alternate colour with black and white cover lines, expressing and continuing the clear , bold and expressive simple design from The New Musical Express.
Q magazine follows a similar pattern to the NME with bold headlines and also carrying the same house style throughout their magazine however the magazines audience tends to be slightly older than the NME which is more youthful and associated with younger and less established bands with only the occasional big star headlining the magazine. The layout has a larger influence on the cover of Q as the logo is bigger and the white Q stands bold in front of the red square. More established stars usually fit in the Q magazine however NME does share similar titles such as both having interest in huge concerts such as Glastonbury.
Q compared to NME appears older and more old fashioned despite it being very original and appealing to all audiences, NME have a younger audience on the whole. This is recognised in the NME radar tour which offers youth the chance to see upcoming acts at venues all over the UK. This sort of event reflects the NME as a magazine and as a brand.
Mojo magazine isnt like the other two featured magazines and the cover is full of portraying a retrospective look with a cover star such as Bob Dylan , a global icon all over the world as the main cover star shows and reflects the target audience varies compared to NME and Q. The audience for this sleek and perhaps established magazine is summed up with an older appearance which will appease older audiences.

MOJO features less colour and focusses on contrasts just like NME however with no colour and its slightly more cluttered in appearance suggesting a change in audience again as the minimalist style is certainly more popular in todays society.
